As a follow up to his debut album, Lyfe Jennings released his second album a little over 2 years after his first one. ![]() The Phoenix Released on August 15th, 2006. Overall, this is my favorite album he has put out to date. Other songs worth listening to from this album: Cry, 26 Years 17 Days, Stick Up Kid, Greedy. ![]() My other favorite song on the album, I Can't, has a great tune to it. The chorus from this song is great: " Even when your hustling days are goneĪnd all those gold-digging women disappear It includes his most famous hit to date Must Be Nice, a song in which he explains what qualities he looks for in a girl. This is my personal favorite album of his. He was released from prison in late 2002. Here is one of the videos sent in that helped jump start his career. These performances were filmed and were eventually sent in so he could perform at Showtime at The Apollo. While in prison, he performed for the other prisoners. While in prison, he discovered Erykah Badu's music, and it motivated him to start making music and turn his life around. At the ripe age on 19, he went to prison for 10 years for arson. Lyfe Jennings was born on June 3rd, 1973 in Toledo, Ohio. I was inspired by all of the "Guide to Lil Wayne/Kanye West" posts, so I figured that I'd do my own.
